In its pursuit of continuous improvement, the Port Authority of Gijón is moving forward to digitalise the rail-port system with a new module for Railways.
The award to Prodevelop follows the Port Authority of Gijón (PAG) decision to improve the management of rail traffic within the port area, in what is a clear commitment to digitalisation and sustainability within the transport and logistics chain.
PAG’s main objective is the implementation of a digital solution that monitors and coordinates rail traffic. Interoperability is expected to improve through the exchange of information in European rail freight services through digitalisation, and via the use of TAF TSI technical standards.
This new solution will be integrated into the current port management platform at PAG, a task made easier as Prodevelop also supply the two components of the port management system, Posidonia Management (PMIS) and Posidonia PCS. It is for good reason why Posidonia Port Solutions is a product suite developed exclusively by Prodevelop.
Then agreement also includes corresponding maintenance. In total, the project has a duration of two years.
The Railways module will provide PAG with an electronic solution for the management of the railway capacity and traffic, which will enable it to cover its needs and achieve the objectives set out in the framework of the European project I RAIL.
By exchanging information in a digital and harmonised way, we expect improvements to the efficiency & quality of service and the reduction of operating costs, therefore contributing to an increase in share of rail freight transport in Europe.
At Prodevelop, we are grateful for the trust placed in us, and guarantee our commitment to our clients to help them digitalise their operations and improve their bottom line.
