The Port Management Association of West & Central Africa broadens its network incorporating Prodevelop as an observer member.
-
For years, Prodevelop has worked along African ports improving their port operations.
May 28th, 2024. Seaports around the West and Central Coast of Africa handle millions of tonnes in import and export of commercial goods for maritime trade. The Port Management Association of West & Central Africa, best known as PMAWCA, has the goal to improve all port activities related, and to develop economic growth and social welfare while minimizing the environmental impact of their countries.
Prodevelop, committed to the digitalisation and optimisation of ports, has been working with PMAWCA participating in different events, and now become an observer member. The aim of being an observer member is to learn from members with expert knowledge on the industry and obtaining in-depth insights on new and emerging ports and operational strategies.
Since 2011, the Spanish company has been present in the Afro-centric continent working along different organisations and companies to delve further into the port industry in the African context and to specialise in the operating system of its ports. As a result, Prodevelop has brought forward advanced solutions to reinforce the digital transformation of African ports.
According to Christophe Joubert, International Ports Deputy COO, “our PMAWCA membership points out our commitment with the African ports and our will to walk with them the digital transformation journey”.
Cooperating between ports and organisations in the maritime trade sector, assures productivity and efficiency in each service provided to their clients, along with a structured system to regulate and constantly boost operations.
Jean-Marie Koffi, General Secretary at PMAWCA, said “adding Prodevelop as observer member will help our West and Central port community to reach new horizons regarding digitalisation and optimisation.”
Therefore, favourable collaborations such as this, contribute to broaden the knowledge and tools to improve the day-to-day activities of African ports, and to promote their innovation by the endeavour of all contributing members.
