The Port Authority of Las Palmas has awarded a 4 year contract for the “Maintenance, Development and Implementation of new functionalities of the integrated port management system at the Port Authority of Las Palmas” to Prodevelop, for the amount of 1,440,000 euros.
The Port Authority of Las Palmas first deployed the Port Management System in 2016. Posidonia consists of several integrated products: Posidonia Management, a Port Management System (PMS) that manages services in the Port Authority, as well as billing derived from these services; Posidonia Operations, a real-time system that monitors the movements of ships and plans the safe mooring of the vessel, in interaction with Posidonia Management; Posidonia Space, a Geographic Information System (GIS) that complements the operation of Posidonia Management with graphical tools and offers a corporate map portal; Posidonia BI. an application that provides a dashboard for Management and any designated user of the Port Authority, to easily monitor current operations, in real time, without the need for training, or knowledge of the different information systems that populate the dashboard; and Posidonia PCS, a technological platform that allows the intelligent and secure exchange of information between the port agents and the Port Authority.
This system has become one of the backbones for management of the Port of Las Palmas, adding value further by also providing data to essential systems that include economic-financial management, and the management of internal and external procedures.
In addition, multi-port support of this management system is provided, with modifications being configured simultaneously across the different ports managed by the port organisation. Furthermore, with the appropriate licenses in place, access to any of the ports is possible from a central location as well as the capacity to obtain global information at the Port Authority level.
The award of the services and components contract to Prodevelop is seen as fundamental and necessary to ensure the Posidonia platform is not only perfectly maintained for use, but also updated technically and functionally, thus improving the user experience and driving performance improvements on a daily basis.
To summarise. the contract includes technical assistance for the support, maintenance and evolution of the Posidonia system currently implemented in the Ports of Las Palmas, as well as the incorporation of new functionalities guaranteeing its full operability during the four year contract period. One of these new functionalities is Posidonia Port CDM, which helps to improve the loading and unloading operations of container vessels.
