With regard to the management of IEPs, amongst other aspects proSAFE offers the following functions:

• Assistance for decision making during emergency situations. 
• Post-emergency analysis of tasks carried out and decisions taken.

DEFINITION OF STANDARD TYPES OF ACCIDENT.

With the aim of automating and minimizing the response when faced with the expediting and starting of the IEP, the system has a simple method of preliminary definition of the tasks to be carried out and the target group that should be notified by default, using diverse means (fax, sms, telephone, etc).

This system will predict every accident defined by the Organization and the most common actions to be carried out in case of emergency. The number of standard type situations depends on those defined within the scope of the IEP.

MANAGEMENT AND MONITORING OF A REAL EMERGENCY.

The emergency start system is activated at the suggestion of the person responsible at that moment and leads this person through a series of steps which will help him/her coordinate the IEP’s activation.

These steps allow the actions that need to be considered to be automized to a great extent.

The steps that should be followed are approximately the following:

REQUEST FOR INITIAL INFORMATION

Once the emergency is activated its initial information is requested, this consists of a minimum of information provided by the person who first notifies an emergency.

These parameters are necessary in order to communicate with the agents involved and more specifically to notify the type of accident and its sphere of action, which is what will determine which pre-established emergency plan should be used.

SIMULATION OF THE ACCIDENT THAT HAS OCCURED

At the moment an emergency is set in motion, a simulation of the accident that has occurred can be carried out, with the aim of obtaining an approximate representation of the consequences of the accident. The simulation has a fundamental graphic component, as its objective is to analyze the companies, organizations and agents that may be affected by the accident.

REVISION OF THE PRE-ESTABLISHED EMERGENCY PLAN

At this point in time the list of contacts that should be informed automatically by fax in phase I of the emergency will be presented. The operator will be able to increase or reduce the list of agents involved, and also vary the priority with which each of them should arrive (that is to say in which order the message should be sent).

INTRODUCTION OF DATA ON THE HELPFUL INFORMATION SHEET

Once the target group by default is confirmed, the operative will specify the information available at that moment on the helpful information sheet, this sheet will be sent to all the established fax target group, also basic information about the emergency will be communicated via sms. It will also be possible to make contact by telephone automatically.

ACCESS TO THE GENERAL CONTROL PANEL

The main objective of the general control panel is to show the list of tasks to be carried out so that the operator knows what he should do at all times. The operator will mark off the tasks as they are carried out, so that he can monitor the emergency situation at all times. The tasks will change status throughout the emergency. The possible status of an emergency will be: pending (not started), in process (started), attempted (started but without success, e.g. a call will no reply), completed. The operator will be able to see different views of the tasks, such as for example a view that shows the uncompleted tasks as per the order of execution established in the IEP.  The final panel of the emergency should be the operators’ main control panel; in addition it has a comprehensive group of helpful actions for the management of an emergency.

REGISTRATION OF THE EMERGENCY

The main control panel for a particular emergency can be abandoned at any point and the emergency can be selected again later to consult the status of the tasks and the faxes sent or any other circumstance relating to the emergency. This allows the management of an unlimited number of emergencies at the same time.
