Description

ESPIGÓN is a fully comprehensive PMIS (Port Management Information System) targeted at port management organizations, such as Autonomous Regions, Port Authorities, private ports or yacht clubs.

ESPIGÓN is the acronym for: “the Use of a Comprehensive Port Management System ON-line” (“Empleo de un Sistema Portuario Integral de Gestión ON-line”) and constitutes a basic computer system for the management of all services and supplies that generate income (general or specific services, public domain, fines, …), together with other areas of management that are not necessarily connected to income (harbourmaster inspection and security, processing of documentation, deposits, infrastructures, fines, marina management, …).
This implies the use of a single system and tool by all the possible users, from the harbourmasters, through to service billing personnel, staff involved in public domain management, marinas or scheduling, or the management.

ESPIGÓN is a Java EE (Enterprise Edition) application, built using the proJAF Framework, developed by Prodevelop.

To sum up, this architecture is based on widespread technologies, frameworks and projects (Struts, LOG4J, AJAX, JSPs, JDBC o EJB, etc.) and has been designed using habitual design patterns (MVC, DAO, Business Delegate, Service Locator, etc.).
