Prodevelop took part in the fourteenth edition of the International Logistics and Maintenance Fair (SIL in Spanish) held from 5^th to 7th June in the Gran Via Exhibition centre, Barcelona.

It was the first time the company had attended the trade fair. In addition, Prodevelop were sponsors of the 1^st Latin America Logistics Summit where they gave a lecture, held by José Ferrí, the company's Managing Director. The summit focussed on logistics and its current growth and this first edition was entitled “The present and future of logistics and transport in Latin America.”Among the meeting attendees were Joaquín del Moral, Chief Executive of Spanish Land Transport, Marcelo Perrupato, Brasil's National Transport Policy Secretary, Matías Undurraga, Chilean General Consul, Tomás Pablo, Spanish Delegate for Invest Chile Corfo, Antoni Estevadeordal, Inter-American Development Bank Commerce and Integration Department Manager.

  The main subject covered by Prodevelop was the advances made in information and port management systems and the optimisation of same in the integration with logistic systems which the company has been working on over the last few years. These management systems are already being used in some Spanish ports, and so Prodevelop wanted to show the technology currently used in Spanish ports and demonstrate the possibility of it being used in ports at an international level. These advances have been made possible thanks to the strong commitment the company has in research and development projects at a European level.

Attendance at this event is part of Prodevelop's push to reach an international level, and especially to forge commercial links with Latin America which is the market in which Prodevelop wants to consolidate itself over the next few years. The feedback from the fair has been positive and we would like to participate and sponsor the summit next year.  

This visit to SIL 2012 allowed Prodevelop to continue the marketing campaign it began a year ago when it opened its doors in Barcelona. The Barcelona delegation currently coordinates its business services and solutions marketing in the port sector at a national and international level as well as focussing Prodevelop's offer in other sectors in Catalonia.
