gvSIG Mini for Android 0.2 released

gvSIG Mini development team is proud to announce the release of the stable version gvSIG Mini for Android 0.2.

 

gvSIG Mini is an open source project (GNU/GPL) aimed at Android and Java mobile phones. Released version is 0.2.0 for Android.

gvSIG Mini is a free viewer of free access tile-based maps (OpenStreetMap, YahooMaps, Microsoft Bing, ...), with WMS client, address search, POIs search, routes, etc.

Main latest features of 0.2.0 version are the following ones:

  • Support for WMS and WMS-C layers
  • Compass support
  • GPS, Cell and Network GeoLocation positioning
  • Precission of the position displayed on the map
  • Navigation Mode
  • Share your location: Twitter, SMS, Email, Facebook...
  • Compatible with Low and High Screen Resolutions
  • Speed download improvements
  • Street View integration
  • New layers added by default: Ordnance Survey (UK), PNOA (ES), Yandex (RU), etc.
  • Layer configuration downloader
  • QuickZoom: SlideBar or DoubleTap
  • Enable/disable GPS
  • Improved user interface
  • Context menu (with long press)
  • Android 2.1 support (now from 1.5 up to 2.1)

More than 40 bugs have also been fixed.
