Prodevelop has succesfully passed the SEI's SCAMPI A evaluation and certifies our software development processes to make them compliant with the best practices established in the organizational maturity model CMMI for Development V1.3 level 2.

Following with our quality improvement policy, Prodevelop has certified its software development processes  within the process maturity model defined by CMMI for Development property of Software Engineering Institute. 

Software Engineering Institute is a research and development center funded by the Department of Defense of the United States of America, and operated by the University Carnegie Mellon (Pittsburgh, Pensilvania EEUU), which provide techniques for ensuring that software engineering processes are performed with quality, lower cost and predictable and minor execution times. 

Obtaining the CMMI maturity level proves in an objective way the effectiveness of software development and maintenance processes, what is worldwide known as a competitive  advantage.

CMMI is a key component for development enterprises aimed at generating IT business at an international level.

Prodevelop follows with this initiative the way towards a continous improvement of organizational and engineering processes for the consolidation and growth in the national and international realm.

Prodevelop in Official SEI´s Published Appraisal Results.

It has been started the development of GEOStore, an industrial R&D project dealing, with new types of digital geospatial  contents as 3D models, AR or geolocated videos. The research to be done, aims to define new  packaging and distribution web techniques of these digital contents; new techniques to achieve new business models.

The expected results of GEOStore will  enhance the technological development in emerging sectors in the field of digital contents such as, Education, Geomarketing and Urban Management, among others, and especially Tourism.

Furthermore, the results of the project may be applied in all those sectors that promote the development of the geospatial digital contents in the information society, due to the processes obtained will facilitate the creation of platforms and its interoperability  for the distribution of digital content, marketing and sharing via social networks.

In summary, the use of these techniques will position strategically the sectors, that implement them in the market for Web 2.0.

The project will be developed over 2 years by the companies Prodevelop S.L, and  Geoturismo S.L.  with the collaboration of  the Department of GIS and Remote Sensing at the University of Girona.

It has been funded by  the Avanza Plan 2 (Digital Content), Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade.

Prodevelop has been selected as a PIPE company out of more than 100 applications. The ICEX has selected 29 companies, those will be supported in their internationalization.

 

For this selection, factors such as products and services, position in Spain, foreign, experience, and so on have been considered.

  

In addition to the recognition that the program offers, the collaboration of an expert will be provided to make a two years Internationalization plan and financing of up to 70% in costs of internationalization.

Prodevelop has been awarded for the public tender "Frame agreement for the services of development and corrective and evolutive maintenance for the new computing system of exploitation of the Port of Barcelona" with an amount of 2.000.000 €.

As a result of the grant, Prodevleop has been endorsed for continuing the development and maintenance of the Port of Barcelona's SOSTRAT system, started by Prodevelop in 2009. In addition to Prodevelop, two other companies, Serikat and Delaware have also been awarded within this framework agreement to develop jointly the new computing system.

We are gratefult to the Port of Barcelona for trusting Prodevelop for the execution of its most strategic IT project.

Prodevelop will participate at the  "II Iberian Conference on Spatial Data Infrastructures (JIIDE)", that will take place in Barcelona, ​​during the days  9th, 10th and 11th of November under the motto: "INTER-PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION INTEROPERABILITY WITHIN INSPIRE".

More than 300 attendees will assist and during this conference :

• It will be discussed extensively  about the progress of the regional/local SDI's and its integartion with the National SDI (IDEE).
• It will be addressed in depth INSPIRE's issues.
• It will be presented success experiences,as reference models to improve SDI services
• It  will be  exposed GeoWeb technologies to develop SDI'ss
• It will take place  meetings of the Working Subgroups of the IDEE.

On Thursday, 10th of November, Prodevelop will present, at 11:00 a.m. in Room A4, in collaboration with the Provincial Ministry of Valencia and the company IMELSA,  the communication " The new Geportal of the Provincial Ministry of Valencia: Urban Guide". It will be discussed the experience of the implementation of LocalGIS 2 and the improvement of some of its features.

Simultaneously in Room A2, Prodevelop will give the lecture  "Implementation of Geoportals by using Professional Technical Support on FOSS". It will be presented our experience in the development of a WebGIS application for the  Agriculture Sector by using the OpenGeo Suite software package plus the OpenGeo professional support.
