This year, Prodevelop collaborated one more time with the Semanainformatica.com 2013 through the sponsorship of the conferences and actively participated in the Gala Dinner, where we had a total of 17 guests. Among our guests include representatives from the Port of Valencia, Júcar Confederation, IMELSA and the Department of Information Technologyof the Generalitat Valenciana (D.G.T.I)

Semanainformática.com 2013, which was held during the days 23,24 and 25 April, has had as its theme "moment of opportunity, computer time" in this eighth edition of the event, in which more than 500  professionals of the Valencian computer industry. Within the framework of the event has developed three theme conferences (New Opportunities in Public Administration, Scenarios innovative work and productivity and Computer Engineering IX Congress of Valencia), two seminars (Transformation Strategy towards Multichannel organizations and The "catch-all "software development).

GEONIMBO TSI-020602-2012-90 is a new research and development about frameworks for building cross-platform mobile applications based on geospatial technologies distributed in mobile devices and services based on Cloud Computing. This project has been funded by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism within the National Plan for Scientific Research, Development and Technological Innovation 2008-2011 and by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER),

 What is GENIMBO about?

It is the study of the adaptation of cloud computing technologies applied to projects using geospatial components, as well as building a framework for both desktop and mobile devices that make use of these geospatial services deployed in the cloud.

Who does it participate in this project?

Prodevelop is the leader and developer of the project, with the help of the Computer Technology Institute (ITI) of the Polytechnic University of Valencia as cloud technology expert partner.

Geonimbo is important because ...

Prodevelop expect to provide a set of core technologies, policies and service providers, as well as it is own framework for the evolution of our products, going  from the classic services "in house" to "software as a service" (SaaS).

On February, it has started the project SITAC: Social Internet of Things - Apps by and for the Crowd- ITEA 2 11020, and it will last around 3 years. SITAC is a ITEA 2 project funded by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness and the consortium is made up of a total of 23 companies from different countries.

What is SITAC about?

The project SITAC is about creating an integrated architecture and an "ecosystem" that includes platforms, tools and methodologies to make easy the connection and cooperation with different types of entities connected to the network rather than systems, machines, devices or people with personal mobile devices as tablets or mobile phones. The project will innovate by using a model inspired by social networks to facilitate and unify the interactions among people and between people and devices.

Who does it participate in SITAC?

The international consortium is consisted of companies and research centers from eight different countries: France, Spain, Portugal, Finland, Turkey, Lithuania, Israel, and South Korea.

Among the participating companies, it found: Gemalto (international leader), Thales, Sen.se, MobiquiThings, Soft4Energy, Alcatel Lucent, Planet Media, Arcelik, KoçSistem, Fara, and Starhome.

The Spanish consortium is composed of the following partners: Alcaltel-Lucent, Planet Media, Prodevelop, PROS-Group Polytechnic University of Valencia, Seville University and University of Alcalá.

SINTAC is important because...

There is huge potential for applications that can arise, when the architecture of intelligent environments and when sensors becomes socials. The interaction between sensors and people allows data collection, control, business opportunities based on large amounts of data (big data), or new opportunities based on user identification.

Our vision is, exploring the various innovative storage technologies (including so-called NoSQL databases) in the area of ​​Internet of things. The analysis criteria include techniques of different structure (including key-value multivalued, objects, tabular, etc.).

Considering the result of this analysis, we will develop and implement a solution in service efficient data storage, based on the best combination of data structures. Moreover, this service is developed to be dynamic in order to be able to increase as needed.

Prodevelop are interested in introducing a new abstraction based on the collection, filtering, aggregation and analysis of large amounts of data in order to proactively anticipate the future needs of their products, particularly for maritime traffic management.

When and where will be the next meeting?

Being an international project ITEA2, it is expected an international meeting every three months over the next three years, that is the project duration, and also it is expected several national meetings by the Spanish consortium. The next national consortium meeting is scheduled in Alcatel Lucent in Madrid on March 13, 2013.

Richard Stallman, the father of free software visit Valencia. Invited by the Free Software Association of Valencia (ASOLIVAL), under the Claustre Obert of the University of Valencia, Dr. Richard Stallman gave a conference last January 29, entitled  'For a Free Digital Society'. As founder of the Free Software movement in the 80s, developed the Linux operating system GNU (www.gnu.org) giving for the first time in history the opportunity for users to copy, modify and distribute the source code of this operating system. His influence in the world of computers was a revolution and it is now a proof: the GNU Linux operating system is used on millions of computers and their use goes from household setting, to be uses in companies and institutions around the planet.

On this occasion Richard Stallman proposes a conference less technical and more social, which reflects on the growing 'inclusion' of people in the use of digital technologies and the widespread assumption that it is something invariably good. According to Stallman, under a practical and immediate convenience only may seem so, but questions about the technological environment we are being forced, as users, to coexist and whether in terms of human rights, is the kind of digital world, in which the big technological corporations want us insert, which determines whether it is good or bad for society.

Richard Stallman has won several awards as the renowned Grace Cooper of the ACM (ACM Grace Cooper Award), a fellowship from the MacArthur Foundation, the Pioneer Award from the Electronic Package Frontier Foundation and the Takeda Award for Improvement Social/Economic, as well as several honorary doctorates.
